This Privacy Policy explains how algₐ collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use the current product build, including practice, review, progress, coaching, and demo experiences.
We built the app to help students study effectively, not to collect data we do not need. The details below describe the information that is used to make the product work.
Information We Collect
Account and identity
When you sign up, we may collect your email address, password hash, display name, and profile details returned by the identity provider you choose.
Learning activity
We store practice answers, review events, session timing, topic performance, mastery state, and the other study signals that power Today, Progress, Review, Skills, History, Sati, and League views.
Support and feedback
If you contact us, report a question, or request help, we may store the message content and the metadata needed to respond.
Device and usage data
We may collect basic device, browser, log, and analytics information so the app can function, troubleshoot errors, and understand where the experience breaks down.
How We Use Information
- To create and manage your account.
- To save study progress, review queues, and performance history.
- To generate coaching responses and explanations when you ask for AI help.
- To enforce plan limits, rate limits, and abuse protections.
- To improve reliability, fix bugs, and understand product usage.
How We Share Information
We do not sell personal data. We share information only when it is needed to operate the service or when required by law.
Supabase
We use Supabase for authentication, database storage, and application state.
OpenAI
When you request an explanation or coach response, the relevant question or progress context may be sent to OpenAI to generate the reply.
If you choose Google sign-in, your Google account information is handled under Google's own terms and the scopes you approve during authentication.
Local Storage and Cookies
We may use browser storage and similar technologies to remember preferences such as onboarding choices, study effects, and session state. Some of these values are needed so the app feels consistent between visits.
Retention and Your Choices
We keep learning data while your account is active and for as long as it is needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.
You can request help with account access, updates, or deletion by contacting support. Some records may remain in backups or logs for a limited period after deletion or account closure.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect your information. No online system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as the product changes. When we do, we will revise the date at the top of the page and, when appropriate, provide additional notice in the product.
