“I know this” records your claim. It does not schedule the card out of review and it is not counted as evidence — only a quiz answer moves either.
Cards return on an expanding schedule: a correct answer buys 1, then 3, then 7, then 16, then 35 days of quiet, and a miss puts the card back at the start. Holding means a card survived a gap of a week or more — it is a reading of what you did, not a prediction about the exam.
